Spencer J. Raff, Partner

Spencer Raff has over 30 years legal experience spanning both in-house and private practice in the United States and Europe. After completing law school, Spencer interned in Scotland and worked for American and British firms in London. After returning to the United States he litigated product liability, insurance defense and commercial transaction cases. He left private practice to join Varian Medical Systems as Division Counsel and subsequently worked in senior legal positions for large and small technology companies such as Adobe, BEA Systems, Openwave, and

At Pragmatica, Spencer used his expertise to focus on technology, IP licensing, commercial contracts and intellectual property transactions. He acts as outside general counsel for some small clients and has a mix of hardware, software and other technology clients

Spencer earned an A.B. in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley and his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in California, Illinois, and Washington State.


Greg Wrenn, Partner
Pragmatica Law LLP

After earning a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1983, Greg worked with a startup developer in Seattle, and later as a product manager for Broderbund Software. After four years working in the industry Greg returned to law school to earn his J.D. from U.C. Berkeley and then joined Perkins Coie in Seattle in 1990 serving in the Trade Regulation and Intellectual Property group.

In 1995 he joined Adobe Systems as inhouse counsel and in 1999 Greg and his family moved to California where he joined Yahoo! and served as Deputy General Counsel, International. Subsequently he served as General Counsel for three more NASDAQ- listed companies in Silicon Valley including Openwave Systems, Borland Software, and, before returning to Seattle and private practice in 2015. Greg focuses on technology, commercial agreements, IP licensing, employment law and trademarks.

Greg is licensed to practice law in Washington State and California.
