Synch legal advisor to ChyronHego AB in relation to 2-IMMERSE

2-IMMERSE  is a collaborative project co-funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 Research Programme with the ambition to deliver technology enabling services ‘to immerse’ audiences in shared and personalised multiscreen experiences. Synch has been retained as legal advisor to ChyronHego AB in relation to the negotiations and entering into of a consortium agreement between the project partners which include, inter alia, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Cisco and BT.

2-IMMERSE brings together broadcasters, producers, rights holders, technology companies and universities to design, build and test four prototype experiences involving live performances and sport. 2- IMMERSE will explore the benefits and challenges of object based broadcasting where content objects are rendered at the client device (the television) rather than prior to transmission at the broadcaster. 2-IMMERSE runs from 1 December 2015 to 30 November 2018.

ChyronHego is a global leader in broadcast graphics creation, playout, and real-time data visualization, offering a wide variety of products and services for live television, news, sports, corporate and government video production. Much of the company’s 40 years’ experience has been forged in delivering technology solutions for football on tens of thousands of matches and the company has gained an intimate knowledge of how the game is broadcasted and the editorial storylines that are created and enhanced through its data and visualisation technologies.

– I really enjoyed working with Synch on this project. Their vast experience in multi-national commercial partnerships projects as well as their top-tier expertise in IP was highly appreciated, says Ian Wray, Sports Industry Director at ChyronHego.

Synch’s team consisted of Anna Forsebäck and David Leffler.

To work with 2IMMERSE has also given us a deeper understanding of future media and in particular of future potential business models within premium digital media experiences – an important and fast growing area within digital media, says Anna Forsebäck, lawyer and Chief Business Development Officer at Synch.
